About Us
Core Energy is a newly formed company with an ambitious programme for ground-mounted solar farm development in Europe, with specific focus on the UK and Italy.
Spanning a combined period of more than 60 years, the Directors of Core Energy have a solid background in Renewable Energy Project Development, particularly in Solar and Wind, and have been heavily involved in the Italian and UK energy sector.
Our Management Team has an enviable track record in achieving successful planning outcomes for solar farms. From the inception of any project, we will work closely with the Landowner to ensure the project aligns with ongoing farming practices while ensuring any development is designed as sensitively as possible to fit in with the surrounding area. Our approach to design will allow for enhancing the local environment and biodiversity during operation.
We understand the importance of building a strong partnership with Landowners, ensuring land diversification, a long-term rental agreement and positive land stewardship are all facilitated in unison. We encourage sheep grazing throughout the project's lifetime.
We are dedicated to producing clean energy from renewable sources, working with specialists in planning and construction to ensure we select the right sites and then manage the process in a responsible way. Our aim is to ensure that our renewable energy projects are of the highest quality and deliver meaningful benefits to the local area.
What we do
We are a renewable energy development company, specialising in the development of small to large scale solar farms. Our in-house team manage all aspects of the Development Cycle, and along with our intra-group operational and management companies, we provide a full technical and administrative service to ensure the efficient operation of all of our projects.
Along with the Core team who manage the site identification, legal, planning and grid connection aspects, we only work with a limited number of trusted partners to ensure that the best and most experienced consultants within the industry are progressing our projects at each stage of the development cycle.
We are committed to developing renewable energy projects to support Europe’s shift to a cleaner, more sustainable and secure energy supply.

Ian Greer
Ian qualified as an Aircraft Engineer. In 2004, Ian applied for Mortgage & Multi-Agency Intermediary Authorisation with the Central Bank of Ireland to focus on financial services. Ian is a co-founder & director of Arena Capital Partners.
Stewart Skelly
Stewart is a Chartered Certified Accountant. He has over 20 years of financial experience in the energy markets and was highly involved in taking an Energy Company public on the NASDAQ Stock Market in 2004. During his career he raised over €500 million and has vast experience in renewable acquisitions. He is also the CFO of Arena Capital Partners Ltd.
Conor Breen
Conor is a Qualified Architect with many years’ experience practicing in Northern Ireland, the UK and Republic of Ireland. He has a strong reputation for obtaining Planning approvals and Grid consents for utility scale wind and solar developments, with over 150 planning consents in place and a 100% planning approval record.
Daniel Rafferty
After qualifying with a Master's degree in Renewable Energy Development, Daniel has more than 13 years experience on the development of large-scale onshore wind and solar projects within the UK & Ireland. Previously working for UK subsidiaries of European Renewables Development companies, Daniel has gained experience of all aspects of the development cycle, from project origination to planning, construction and operation.
